Studies tell us that learning as much as possible about your cancer treatment makes a difference. But with the busy schedule dictated by cancer treatments -- not to speak of the fatigue that goes along with cancer -- I know it often feels better to stay home with your feet up on the couch.

But CancerCare, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for people with cancer, has made it easy. They are offering a telephone conference that you can listen to on your phone or computer while sitting on your couch. And better yet - it's completely free.

The title of this conference is Advances in Treating Chemotherapy Related Nausea and Vomiting, but it will cover a gamut of topics of interest to those of you who are going through chemotherapy or have loved ones who are going through chemotherapy.

Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

  • Causes of Chemotherapy Side Effects
  • Managing Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea and Constipation
  • Practical Tips to Deal with Fatigue and Infection Control
  • Guidelines for Dental Care During Chemotherapy
  • Recommendations to Handle Hair Loss

    And much more.

If you happen to be busy on September 11th, check back later to listen to the podcast of the conference. Or check out other topics that interest you in the archives.
If you're at all like me, the busyness of cancer treatment makes it hard to remember what I'm doing tomorrow more or less next month. But CancerCare takes care of that. After registering they'll send you a reminder closer to the date of the conference so you don't have to even get up to put in on the calendar.

    The date: -- Tuesday, September 11, 2012

    The time: -- 1:30 - 2:30 PM Eastern Time

The website to register: -- Connect ® Workshop
