What Was Helpful

I had a lobectomy. It took some time to sink in. Found out 1 month ago. Still sinking in.

friends brought food for my husband and me. Stayed a few minutes and left. I was very tired so I appreciated the short visits

My husband who took such good care of me. Took charge of meds. Insisted I drink Boost.

What Didn't Help or Made Those Days More Difficult

Knowing my little sister had the same surgery in the same hospital 6 years ago and died on the operating table. We were very close. I remember people who said she knew when she smoked what could happen. btw-I have never smoked

No one deserves lung cancer

Advice

  • Get healthy before surgery.
  • Try to take doctors advice. walk, eat healthy,
  • Rest
  • Pray. Meditate. Whatever you want to call it. You can "talk thru" your thoughts and fears.
