What Is Hypercalcemia?

Definition:

Hypercalcemia is defined as an abnormally high level of calcium in the blood.

Common symptoms include tiredness, a decreased appetite, confusion, thirst, nausea and muscle weakness.

Hypercalcemia can occur as a side effect of lung cancer called paraneoplastic syndrome.

Examples:
Diane went to see her doctor about symptoms of muscle weakness and loss of appetite and was told she had hypercalcemia.
