Large Cell Lung Cancer

Definition:

Large cell lung cancer is a form of non-small cell lung cancer. Eighty percent of lung cancers are non-small cell, but only 10% of these are large cell lung cancer.

Large cell lung cancers are named for the large, round cells that are seen under the microscope with this type of cancer. They usually start in the outer regions of the lungs and tend to grow very rapidly.
